Seasonal Guides

When to come, and what each season actually gives you — tides, migrations, honey, storms and the quiet months between.

The delta has three seasons

Not four. What changes between them is the water, and everything follows the water.

  • Cool, November To February

The season most journeys run: clear light, comfortable nights and the best odds on the banks.

  • Hot, March To May

Long days, thin crowds and animals drawn to the remaining freshwater. Heat is the limiting factor.

  • Monsoon, June To October

The forest at its greenest, fishing closed for the breeding season, and weather that decides the itinerary.

Choosing a month

There is no bad season, only wrong expectations.

Ask us what you want to see rather than when you want to come.

We will tell you the month that gives you the best chance of it.

Birders and photographers often want different weeks; a first visit usually wants the cool season. Tell us which you are and the route will follow.
