Our Story

An expedition brand, a magazine and a growing encyclopedia of the Sundarban — all of it written from the water.

How this started

Three things we wanted that nobody was offering: time on the water, honest expectations, and a record of what we saw.

  • Time On The Water

Not a day trip with a checklist. Journeys long enough that the delta stops performing and simply goes on with its day.

  • A Record, Not A Brochure

Every journey adds to the encyclopedia: islands, creeks, watchtowers, species and the stories attached to them.

  • Local Knowledge First

Boatmen, guides and forest staff who have read these waters for decades decide where we go and when.

What we are after

The forest decides what you see.

The Sundarban is not a zoo and it does not owe anyone a sighting.

Our job is to put you where something can happen, and then to wait.

That is why our journeys are measured in days rather than hours, and why we would rather tell you what a season is really like than sell you a promise the tide will break.

What you take home is a place understood a little better than when you arrived.

How we work

The three pages that explain the rest of it.
