Following wings through the Sundarbans' mangrove forests — a private 4-day birding expedition through the birdlife, mangroves, wetlands and tidal waterways of the living delta. Follow the wings. Explore the habitat. Discover the living delta.
The Wild Orbit
The Expedition
We don’t sell tours; we offer an experience of how the Sundarban should be explored.
A private birding expedition for birdwatchers, photographers and nature lovers who want to experience the Sundarbans through its birds, mangroves, wetlands and tidal waterways. Travel with an Expedition Ornithologist through mangrove forests and forest edges, narrow tidal creeks, mudflat feeding grounds, estuarine habitats and open river corridors — and understand how tides, habitats and food shape bird activity.
This is not simply a birdwatching tour. It is an expedition into the birdlife and ecosystems of the living delta.
Why this expedition
The same forest looks different from one waterway to another. This expedition gives you time to explore those differences, led by an Expedition Ornithologist.

Beyond the birds
Alongside the birdlife you may see chital deer, rhesus macaques, estuarine crocodiles and water monitors, and occasional Gangetic and Irrawaddy dolphins. Featured bird groups include mangrove kingfishers (brown-winged, black-capped, collared, white-throated), raptors (Brahminy kite, white-bellied sea eagle), herons and egrets, shorebirds and waders, and seasonal migratory birds. No particular species can be guaranteed.

The forest's gentle wanderer. Always alert, always elegant.
